Plateau State Police Command Thursday indicted the courts for releasing suspected
hardened criminals handed over to them for trial on the excuse of granting them
bail.
According to the Police, these criminals come back into the society to constitute
threat to the Police.
Speaking while parading some criminals at the state Police Headquarters, Jos, the
State Police Commissioner, Chris Olakpe said “the lives of policemen are no longer
safe because whenever an arrest is made and the suspects are handed over to the
court for trial, the suspects are granted bail and these same criminals come back to
the society to perpetrate more crimes, and indeed make us targets.”
